Our Story

At the top level of sport the physical difference between competitors is almost imperceptible.

What separates the world’s best from the rest is what is going on in their minds. Those who dominate understand the significance of their state of mind. They know how to win and they know how to correct things when they don’t.

This organisation was established because from an early age Craig Steel understood the critical role state of mind played in human achievement. After years of research, he developed a revolutionary process designed to teach elite athletes and, more recently, focused commercial leaders how to increase their psychological capacity to perform in order to excel on the world stage.

Since its introduction, the Steel Performance System, which forms the basis of Craig’s programmes, has been described as one of the single greatest advancements in New Zealand sport. Others, like four time Olympic gold medalist Ian Ferguson, say Craig’s profound insight and extraordinary process makes succeeding at the highest level achievable.

Craig’s vision is to teach Australasia’s leading athletes and organisations how to create a true high performance mind-set in order to out-perform the world’s best competition.
